Betty Jean Reynolds

Betty Jean Reynolds was born August 21, 1932, in Oklahoma City, to Frank and Louise (Frost) Curren. She passed from this life on Monday, August 1, 2022, in Sulphur, at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 10 days.

Betty grew up in Oklahoma City. As an adult, she made her home in Gowen, Oklahoma City and Choctaw, prior to settling in Sulphur in 1979. While living in the Oklahoma City area, she spent several years working as a salesclerk for TG&Y. After moving to Sulphur, Betty worked as a private, in-home healthcare aide for several area elders. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, and spending time tending to her yard. Betty was a member of the Sulphur Pentecostal Holiness Church, as well as the S.A.S.O. Choir.

Survivors include her two sons, Allen A. Reynolds and wife Faith of Sulphur, and Tommy P. Reynolds of Oklahoma City; two granddaughters, Holly Dunagan and husband Jeremiah, and Heather Kiper and husband Jacob; three great-granddaughters, Grace, Marybeth, and Ruth; one brother, James L. Curren of Norman; one uncle, James S. Frost of Oklahoma City, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Betty in death was her father, Frank Curren and wife, Alice; her mother, Louise Harvell and husband Spellman; as well as an infant son, David Lee Reynolds.

Viewing will be held 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, with family receiving friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, that afternoon, at the funeral home. A private burial will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City.

Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.
