Carlton Dean Beesley

Carlton Dean Beesley, better known as Dean, was born October 2, 1951, in Roff, to the late Carlton Leon and Margaret Alice (Baldwin) Beesley. He died Thursday, January 20, 2022, in Ardmore, at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 18 days. Dean and the former Kathy Lynn Massingill were married on February 19, 1971, in Tishomingo. She preceded him in death on October 19, 2015.

Dean grew up in the Troy/Reagan area. At an early age, he worked in the hay and peanut fields around Johnston County. After he and Kathy married, they made their home, west of Davis, on the Zellar’s Ranch, where he worked as a ranch hand for some 25+ years. From Zellar’s, Dean worked as a pit truck driver at the Martin-Marrietta Rock Crusher. In 2011, due to Kathy’s failing health, Dean retired, allowing him more time to be with his beloved wife, and assist with her health care.

In younger years, Dean enjoyed racing cars at area dirt tracks, as well as fishing. He was a very devoted father and grandfather. He cherished spending time with his family and following his grandchildren around watching them play sports.

Survivors include two daughters, Elaine Ross and husband, Joe, and Shari Coberley and husband, Todd, all of Hennepin; seven grandchildren, Heather Ross, Montana Riggle, Matt Coberley, Dakota Coberley, Joey Ross, Misty Ross and Justin Ross; one great-granddaughter, A’Riyah Coberley; one sister, Kay Lancaster of Davis; three brothers, R.O Beesley and wife, Benitia of Davis, James Beesley and wife, Cari of Davis, and David Beesley of Madill; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Dean was preceded in death by three sisters, Linda Curry, Vonnie Lowe and Glenda Beesley; and three brothers, Ronnie Beesley, Dale Beesley, and Leonard Beesley.

Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Davis, with Rev. Roger Sims officiating. Interment followed at the Dougherty Cemetery.

Services are “entrusted to” Hale’s Funeral Home of Davis.
