Services for Carol Lynn Iverson Bland were held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, at the Midway Hill Baptist Church, with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr officiating. A private burial followed at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.

Carol was born September 5, 1961, in Lakewood, CA to the late Marlowe LeRoy and Sanna Matilda (Jepsen) Iverson. She died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, in Ardmore, at the age of 60 years, 2 months and 6 days.

Carol grew up in Simi Valley, CA, graduating from Royal High School, class of 1979. In 1981, she moved to Sulphur, continuing her education at Murray State College, majoring in accounting. In the mid 1980’s, Carol began working for the CD Brown Construction Company of Sulphur, where, at the time of her death, she was still employed as the secretary/ treasurer.

Carol was an adventurous woman. She enjoyed being outdoors camping, riding horses and kayaking. She cherished spending time with her family and friends. Carol was a very loving and devoted sister, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Survivors include one daughter, Mariah Peters and husband, Ryan; three grandchildren, Lacy, Harley, and Jesse Peters, all of Sulphur; sister, Doris Iverson of Sandy, OR; lifelong best friend, Joni Rackley and husband, Jimmy of Sulphur; as well as three nieces, Zoie Doering, Kari Cimon, and Mindi Kanoho; and two nephews, Dane Koznek and Todd Iverson.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by Mariah’s father, Richard Bland; one sister, Beth Iverson; and two brothers, Tom and Eric Iverson.

Serving as honorary bearers will be Harley Peters, Jesse Peters, Don Brown, Charlie Brown, Jimmy Rackley and Kyle Porter.

Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.
