Clarence Arthur “C.A.” Kennedy, Jr.

Funeral services for Clarence Arthur “C.A.” Kennedy, Jr. will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 16, at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis, with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Hennepin Cemetery.

C.A. was born August 20, 1942, in Sulphur, to the late Clarence Arthur and Sibyl Marie (Walker) Kennedy, Sr. He died Friday, Dec. 10, in Durant, at the age of 79. C.A. and the former Ms. Elizabeth Ann Carver were married on November 25, 1965, in Victoria, TX.

C.A. grew up in Sulphur. Following high school, he worked as a firefighter for the National Forestry Service, prior to enlisting in the U.S. Navy on November 26, 1962. After being honorably discharged from the Navy on November 25, 1968, C.A. spent several years working as an electrician on airplanes and new home construction. He later began a career as an asbestos insulation worker, working with the Local Insulator’s Union #94. Throughout his years in the union, he worked in home construction and in numerous refineries throughout the U.S.

In his spare time, C.A. did a variety of things to occupy his time, including, painting, hunting, fishing, welding, making belt buckles, and raising cattle.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; one daughter, Kimberly Ann Kennedy of Davis; two sons, Mark Evan Kennedy of Ardmore, and Scott Kennedy and wife, Alysha of Hennepin; four grandchildren; four sisters, Joy Hayes, Margaret Cunnish, Betty Kennedy, and Sheryl Lynn Kennedy; and one brother, Jerry Kennedy.

In addition to his parents, C.A. was preceded in death by four siblings, L.H., Wendell, Frankie Don and Jean.
