Constance C. “Connie” Dye

A celebration of life for Constance Claydethel “Connie” Dye, 76, was held Monday, April 1, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Central Baptist Church, in Sulphur, with her son Reno Dye officiating. Interment followed at Paoli Cemetery.

The daughter of the late Clayton Truman and Ethel Francis Loper Mauldin, Connie was born August 30, 1947 in Brawley, California, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 26, 2024, at her home in Sulphur, Oklahoma, surrounded by her family.

Connie graduated from Plainview High School, class of 1965. She went to work for the Patricia Stevens Finishing School and Career College in Dallas, Texas in 1970. She and Bennie Edward “Eddie” Dye, were joined in marriage on January 6, 1972 in Durant, celebrating their 52nd anniversary in 2024.

Connie was a loving pastor’s wife, and worked for several years at the Healey Ranches, both at the Southern Cross and Flying L. She also worked in the sales department for PrimeStar Cox Cable achieving many sales records. She was a secretary at A to Z Tire in Oklahoma City and Farmers State Bank in Quinton, Oklahoma before they moved to Sulphur.

Connie enjoyed planning and participating in adventurous trips with the women of the church, coaching her children when they played youth sports and was also not shy about offering advice from the stands. She liked to read and play card games with the grandchildren. Holiday gatherings were events filled with food, fun and games.

She was a fan of college and pro sports teams in Oklahoma, especially cheering for OU and OSU men’s and women’s teams.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Eddie; daughters Lisa Hanson of Sunset, TX, and Lori Douglas and husband Darrin of Ardmore; her son Reno and wife Lacy Dye of Fittstown, OK; her sister, Kathy Brock of Marietta, OK; grandchildren, Landree Dye, Xander Dye, Laylee Dye, Dillon Hanson, Dalton Hanson, Leah Cain, and Loreal Reynen and fiancé Nery Torres and her great grandson Luca Torres.

Serving as bearers will be Darren, Dillon and Dalton Hanson, Darrin Douglas and Nery Torres.

Honorary bearers will be Xander Dye, Andy and Danny Cooper and the men of Central Baptist Church.
