Debra Lynn (Shockley) Pierce

Debra Lynn (Shockley) Pierce departed from this life on February 7, 2022 surrounded by family at her home in Mill Creek, at the age of 66 years.

Debra was born on December 2, 1955 in Oklahoma City, to the late Delbert William Shockley and Lillie Lee (Flewallen) Shockley. She married Harold Pierce on July 31, 1981 at the Johnston County Courthouse. They enjoyed 40 years of marriage.

Debra attended school at McCloud High School. She moved to the Johnston County area in 1980 and worked in the cash office at Wal-Mart in Sulphur, for 11 years and then retired. She was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed spending time with her family and dog, Pepper. Debra was known to be a loving, caring, and precious woman. She enjoyed fishing very much and loved the time spent fishing with her husband, Harold. Debra loved tending to her rose bushes as well. She will be missed by many.

Debra was preceded in death by both parents; brother, Wayne Mantia; and sisters, Paula Shockley and Glenna Shockley.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband Harold of the home; sons, Lee Pierce of the home, Torey Mayfield of Sulphur; daughters, Jamie Ward and husband, Johnny of Sulphur and Lisa Higginbotham and husband, Tony of Springer; sister, Barbara Shockley of Sulphur; and a niece, Lawanna Mitchem of Mill Creek.

Graveside services to honor the life of Debra were held Friday, Feb. 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Mill Creek Cemetery with Reverend Roger Hartwell officiating. Services were under the direction and care of Hartwell Funeral Home in Tishomingo. Online condolences may be made at hartwellfuneralhome.com
