Memorial services with military honors for James Chambler, 76, of Sulphur, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, Feb. 18, 2022 at DeArman Funeral Chapel. A military service will be performed by the U.S. Air Force Honors Guard Military Service.

Born January 1, 1946 in Sulphur, to James Bert “ Red” and Viola “Ola” (Wilson) Chambler, he passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022 in Sulphur, at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 5 days.

He married Elsie May (King) Chambler at Guy Sandy Church in Sulphur, on May 22, 1971. He had lived in this area most of his life, graduating from Sulphur High School and later Southern Vo-Tech with a certification in mechanics in 1967. He worked with American Appliance heating and air service learning appliance repair. He returned to Sulphur and opened C&C Refrigeration until economy dictated a change. He worked in Oklahoma City with MAO Management until 1994 when he returned home to work with Cobble Construction. James was a veteran of the Viet Nam Era serving in the US Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Bobby. Surviving are his wife, Elsie May Chambler, of Sulphur; daughter, Petina May (BB) Blackbird Chambler-Phelps; grandchildren, Elijah and Bodacia; brother, Tommye Chambler and his partner, Martha Lawson; 3 nieces; 2 nephews and many cousins.
