John Wesley “JW” Payne

John “JW” Payne, 71, of Tulsa, passed away on March 17, 2024, after a sudden decline in his health.

JW was born on September 24, 1952, to Opal and Wilburn Payne in Sulphur. He was one of 10 children. He was blessed with a large and loving family. Many who knew JW would tell you he was very stubborn and had a talent of sleeping while sitting up. JW had a love for WWE and taking care of his dogs.

He is survived by his former wife, Vanita Payne and their three children, Cassandra Vega and her husband Robert of Barling, AR, Brian Ingram and his wife Arlene of Pinegrove, PA and Amy Ingram of Fort Smith, AR; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

JW is also survived by his four brothers, Gene Payne of Duncan, Warren Payne, LA Payne and Lee Payne, all from Sulphur, and one sister, Faye Hook of Mill Creek, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

JW was preceded in death by his parents, Opal and Wilburn Payne; brothers, Jimmy, Joe and David Payne and his sister, Dorothy Young.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service, which will be held at Faith Center Church, 2630 W. Broadway Ave, Sulphur OK on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.
