Johnnie Duwaine “Comanche” Norman

Johnnie Duwaine Norman was born December 7, 1945, in Wynnewood, to the late Edgar Lewis and Nova Evolene (Rogers) Norman. He died Friday, January 7, 2022, in Sulphur, at the age of 76. Johnnie and the former Ms. Francine Lumbert were united in marriage on March 31, 1964, in Davis. From this union were born three children, Levi, Sonya, and James.

Johnnie grew up in the Hennepin/Woodland area. Throughout his working career, in addition to driving a truck, he also operated heavy equipment. Johnnie, better known by his CB handle as “Comanche,” spent 43 years driving for various companies, including Safeway, Hanson Aggregates, and prior to his retirement in 2011, he drove for Chris Foster Trucking of Davis.

Survivors include his loving wife Francine; son, Levi Eddie Duwaine Norman and wife, Lisa of Elmore City; daughter, Sonya Renee Wilbourn and husband, George of Davis; son, James Douglas Norman and wife, Darlene of Sulphur; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Glasgow of Grand Prairie, TX; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Johnnie was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Warren and one brother, Lewis Edgar.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 12, at the First Baptist Church of Davis, with his nephew, Patrick Norton officiating. Interment will follow at the Hennepin Cemetery.

Services are “entrusted to” Hale’s Funeral Home of Davis.
