June Aldean Albright

June Aldean (McDonald) Albright, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother left this world on January 11, 2023 to be joined with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She passed away after a prolonged period of physical and mental decline associated with dementia. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, W. Joe Albright; three sons, Todd (Cheryl), Ty (Diane) and Tawn (Christele); seven grandchildren, one great grandchild; her twin sister, Joy Anderson; and brother, James McDonald

She was born in Bristow, on May 12, 1934. Her parents, James Holland and Ebal McDonald had not expected twins upon her birth. June and Joy were forever connected. June grew up in Allen, and cherished her upbringing there. She would always say, “I had such a happy wonderful life living in a rural, small-town community. I felt safe, loved and special”. Her days were filled with activities of basketball, choir and band. She made lifetime friends with her classmates and cherished their annual high school reunions.

June and Joe were married on September 4, 1959. Their life together involved living in seven different states as they raised their family with Phoenix, Arizona being their final family move. It was in Phoenix that June found her lifetime love of being a realtor and was repeatedly recognized as a top Saleswomen of the Year by the Phoenix, Arizona Board of Realtors. She was also actively involved at Shadow Rock church and their community theatre events. In 1998, June and Joe retired and moved to Sulphur. She was active in serving at Crossway First Baptist Church as a greeter and sang in the SASO Senior Choir.

She relished her role as “Grandy June” to Carson, J.T., Quinn, Lara, Garrett, Alix and Owen. Her great granddaughter, Ava June, arrived just in time to be a part of her life.

June will be remembered for her love of singing and could always be heard humming a tune around the house. Her loves included old-school glamour, things that sparkled and shined, attending every social event and sipping Coca-Cola with lots of ice. She was feisty, dogged, and headstrong and usually got things her way. We, her family, are very proud of her accomplishments and the love she shone onto us daily. She will be remembered and missed every day by those who loved her.
