Larry Floyd Langeberg

Larry Floyd Langeberg was born April 7, 1934, in Stirum, ND, to the late William H. and Hildegard Louella (Legler) Langeberg. He died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022, in Ardmore, at the age of 88.

Larry grew up in Stirum. After high school, he joined the United States Army on January 24, 1955, and served until he received an honorable discharge on December 13, 1957. Throughout his career, Larry worked as a cross country truck driver, spending most of his time driving for AMPI. His career in truck driving allowed him the opportunity to visit 45+ states. He was very proud to have received an award for one million miles with no accidents.

Larry was an expert marksman and enjoyed shooting guns. In his spare time, he also enjoyed dancing, fishing, and going out to eat with friends and family.

Survivors include his four grandchildren, Jimmy Dean Russell and wife Annie, of Sulphur, Heather Beam of Sulphur, Joe Dean of Tulsa, and Stevie Dean of Utah; five great-grandchildren, James “Bubba” Russell, Hannah Russell, Harlie Russell, Resen Beam, and Ransom Beam; two great-great grandchildren, Daniel James Russell and Scottlyn LaNea Beam; four brothers, Duane Langeberg and wife Alaine Gayle, James Langeberg and wife Anna, Ricky Langeberg and wife Donna, and Timonthy Langeberg and wife Vicki; and two sisters-in-law, Beverly Langeberg and Andrea Langeberg.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by wife Esther Langeberg; wife Carol Langeberg; three daughters, Laura Gayle Langeberg, Shelley Russell and her husband John, and Penny Kay Dean; one son, Dwain Daniel “Buck” Langeberg; one great-grandson, Rally Scott Beam; one great-great granddaughter, Sterling Elizabeth Simpson; as well as his beloved friend and companion, Loretta Johnston.
