Latoye Dee (Roady) Eldred

Services for Latoye Dee (Roady) Eldred will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Davis, with Brother Johnny Tonihka officiating. Private burial will be at the Green Hill Cemetery, in Davis.

Latoye, known by most as “Toy,” was born March 11, 1957, in Wynnewood, to the late Troy B. “Sam” and Dorothy Jo (Thomas) Roady. She died Monday, January 23, 2023, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 65.

Toy grew up in Davis, graduating from Davis High School, Class of 1975. She devoted 29+ years to the INCA Head Start in Davis, where she worked as a cook. Toy was simply known as “Cook” to many of the children who passed though the Head Start program. In Toy’s life, family was foremost. She loved spending time with her family members, who each had a special place in her heart. She looked forward to cruising around Davis each evening while being chauffeured by her brother Rod. Other enjoyments included traveling with her “bestie,” Michelle, watching TV and napping. Toy was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church of Davis.

Survivors include two daughters, Meggan Eldred of Houston, TX, and Jerra Gorrell of Davis; her beloved companion of 33 years, Dixson Gorrell and his two daughters, Bethany Rice and Autumn Gorrell; grandchildren, Kelsea, Keyshawn, Daedrien, Jace, Julia, Nicholas, Naomi, Isaac, and Jacob; one great-granddaughter, Kamari; two brothers, Rick Roady, and Rodney Roady and wife, Michelle, both of Davis; very special friends, Roger and Alicia Schier; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Toy was preceded in death by one brother, Randy Roady; and one sister, Sandra (Roady) Day.

Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home, Davis. Online condolences may be offered at halesfuneralhomes.com.
