Services for Loyd James Harber, 96, Sulphur, were held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Crossway First Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Bill Leveridge. Burial was at Lightning Ridge Cemetery under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home.

Born February 8, 1925 in Roff, to Frank and Roxie (Johnson) Harber, he passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021 in Sulphur at the age of 96 years, 7 months and 13 days. He married Wandell J. (Hart)

He married Wandell J. (Hart) Harber in Ada, on September 13, 1945. She preceded him in death August 25, 2010.

Loyd grew up in the Roff area, where he attended school. After school, he was drafted into the military service, where he served in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Battle of the Bulge. After his discharge, Loyd had worked for OG&E as plant manager until his retirement. He had lived in Sulphur since 1959. He was a member of Crossway First Baptist Church.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Donna and Emma and grandson, Steve Ahtone.

He is survived by his six grandchildren, Bryan, Sam, Shellie, Chandra, Jeri Kaye, and Jody; several great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Benton Arnold, Will Fernandez, James Jones, Derek Whiten, Zachary Ahtone, and Kevin Ellis.
