Max R. Stahlman

Funeral services for Max Roy Stahlman will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Sept.r 23, at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis, with Reverend Clay Shannon officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

Max was born March 2, 1948, in Selman, OK to the late Ralph and Martha (Morrow) Stahlman. He died Monday, Sept. 20, in Sulphur, at the age of 73. Max and the former Ms. Teresa Ann (Pyka) Coll were married on January 16, 1987, in Gainesville, TX.

Max grew up in Gate, OK, graduating from Gate High School, class of 1966. Throughout his working career, Max spent most of his time in residential and commercial building constructions. For several years, he worked for the Best Roofing Company and later Tri-Con Roofing, prior to owning and operating Stahlman Waterproofing. After selling his company, Max worked for Green Development, supervising their property management division. In addition to working for Green Development, he also worked as a self-employed carpenter, doing remodels, both residential and commercial.

Max loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was known to be the “cook” of his family. He and Teresa enjoyed traveling in their spare time and those travels often took them to Arkansas, where he would dig for diamonds. Max was a very kind-hearted man. He was always willing to help others and see that his family was well cared for. Max greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson Andrew.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa; two daughters, Maschielle Stahlman of Santa Fe, NM, and Kerri Whatley and husband, Daniel of Davis; son, Matt Stahlman of Santa Fe; five grandchildren; and seven siblings, Ralph, Russell, Rex, Bonnie, Stanely, Ronald and Jane.

In addition to his parents, Max was preceded in death by seven siblings, Herschel, Raymond, Floris, Anna, Rose, Roberta, and Robert.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Claxton, Kenneth Claxton, Keith Claxton, Kory Claxton, Chuck Pyka, Tanner Claxton, Gage Neal and Scott Leatherman.
