Nancy Lou Graves

Nancy Lou Graves was born to Harold D. and Violetta May (Derusha) Baker on January 14, 1946 inAnnArbor, Michigan. Nancy passed from this life on March 25, 2024 in Davis, at the age of 78, in the comfort of her home surrounded by those who loved her the most.

Nancy attended school in Ann Arbor Michigan and Maddison Heights Michigan and with her education she became a PANurse. Nancy worked for three years in a nursing home in Michigan and she worked as a Physical Therapist for the Artesian Nursing home in Sulphur, for 27 years before her retirement. Nancy married the love of her life and best friend William Graves Sr. on September 19, 1961 in Royal Oaks, Michigan. Nancy and Bill spent a lot of time together and loved going to different NASCAR races, to see drag cars, going fishing with Bill and even though she would only sunbathe on the boat it was still quality time spent with him, and on various vacations all over the country. Nancy loved any type of cooking, she loved crocheting, completing puzzles, doing word searches, and she loved going to family gatherings or reunions because family was the most important thing to Nancy.

Her family said that the Lord blessed them with the best mom and grandmother in the world, and that no one hated Nancy, and that if you knew her you just had to love her. Nancy cannot be replaced and she will be missed by so many that loved her.

Nancy is survived by her husband of the home William Graves, Sr.; son, William David Graves III of Norman; daughters, Elizabeth Wylie of Shelbyville, Tennessee, and Patricia Vineyard of Davis;brothers, Harold Baker of Madison Heights, Michigan and Robert Baker of Hazel Park Michigan; sisters, Diane Shorenke of Royal Oaks, Michigan, Bonnie Bates of Lexington, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and four grea-great grandchildren.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Harold D. and Violetta May (Derusha) Baker.

There are no services pending at this time for Mrs. Graves, if the family chooses to have a service we will update this information at that time.
