Memorial services for Richard Dwayne Baker, 69, Sulphur, were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Crossway First Baptist Church officiated by Rev Bill Leveridge.. Arrangements were direction of DeArman Funeral Home of Sulphur.

Richard was born August 2, 1952 in Duncan, to Melvin and Virginia (Reagan) Baker. He passed away Sunday, Sept. 19, in Sulphur, at the age of 69 years, 1 month and 17 days.

Richard grew up in Duncan where he graduated from Duncan High School. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Debbie Dill, on September 4, 1969 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He started working in the oilfield after high school and continued this work for over 20 years including working overseas. After returning to the United States, he began working in the corporate world. Even though he was officially retired, he never stopped working on his many auctions and on the land he so loved. Richard never met a stranger and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone with no questions asked. He was a national merchandising manager for Newell Corp. Richard was a member of Crossway Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Melvin Baker, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Baker, of Sulphur; daughter, Angela Reed and husband, James, of Norman; son, Rick Baker and wife, Christy, of Rector, AR; sister, Barbara Connel; brother, Gary Baker; seven grandchildren, Derek, Kirby, Haley, Avianna, Miranda, Spenser, and Brodie; two great grandchildren, Charlotte, and Kirbie.
