Thresia “Trish” Cornell

Thresia “Trish” Cornell, of Pauls Valley, passed away August 17, 2022, in Sulphur, at the age of 84 years.

Thresia F. Jones was born February 27, 1938, in Elmore City, to Thad Gipson and Billie Rudell (Hayes) Jones.

She attended Paoli Schools and is a graduate of the Paoli High School.

She married Carl Cornell in Maysville at the First Baptist Church on June 30, 1957. She was a loving mother and homemaker and a member of Beaty Baptist Church. Garvin County has been her home all her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thad and Billie Jones; and her husband, Carl Dean Cornell onAugust 11, 1996; as well as one great grandson, Carter Dean Mariano and one daughter in law, Brenda Joyce Cornell.

Her surviving family includes her children, Angela Mariano and her husband, Michael, of Bristow, Scott Cornell of Pauls Valley, Kent Cornell and his wife, Ginger, of Sulphur, and Mark Cornell and his wife, KoLinda, of Poteau; eight grandchildren, Chris, Gina, Russell, Kenna, Karli, Kara, Krystal, and Colby and 15 great grandchildren; as well as two sisters, Carmelita Sullivan of Maysville, and Darquita Harvey of Durant. Also, she is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, August 19, 2022, at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Bill Leveridge. Interment followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
