Tonya Michelle Cupp

Tonya Michelle Cup, 46, was born August 11, 1977, in McAlester, to the late Tommy Lee and Nellie Francine (Davis) Cupp. She died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024, in Ardmore, following a 27-year battle with kidney disease.

Tonya grew up in Davis, graduating from Davis High School, Class of 1995. She continued her education with several colleges and universities, including Murray State College and Rose State College, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Due to her health issues, Tonya was restricted in her abilities to work in the field of Psychology; however, she was able to do volunteer grief counseling, as well as counsel with battered women.

Tonya was a rather quiet individual. She was very artistic and enjoyed diamond painting and coloring. She enjoyed watching horror movies and had a passion for cats.

Survivors include her boyfriend, Chris DeFrancis of Thackerville; one sister, Christy Cupp of Davis; three nephews, Kamron and Kaleb Cupp, and Kyle Coberley; her aunt, Lou Skelton of Davis; as well as three cousins, Crystal, Amy, and JD Skelton.

The family will host a private celebration of Tonya’s life, at a later date.
