Willam Hampton “Bill” Tallant

William Hampton “Bill” Tallant was born on November 10, 1939, in Roff, to the late Cecil Ruffard and Della Mae (Stephens) Tallant. He passed away, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, May 22, in Duncan, at the age of 83, following a four-year battle with cancer.

Bill was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church of Davis. Soon after graduating from Davis High School in 1959, he married Harvena Pettitt. From this union were born four children, Kerry, Cindy, Michael, and Lisa. In 1960, Bill joined the U.S. Air Force. During his service to our country, he traveled many places and was stationed in many places, with the furthest being Okinawa, Japan.

After serving in the Air Force, Bill moved his family to Georgia, where he worked for Lockheed and Delta Airlines.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by two children, Michael and Lisa; one sister, Luan Adams; and one brother, Richard Tallant.

Survivors include his two daughters, Kerry Koch and husband, Melvin of La Harpe, KS, and Cindy Rochell and husband, Jack of Duncan; four grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Bill was also blessed with four nephews.

Graveside funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis, with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr. officiating.

Per Bill’s wishes, the family requests in lieu of flowers, charitable donations be made to the City Rescue Mission, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospitals, Shriner’s Hospitals; or a charity of your choice.

Services are “entrusted to” Hale’s Funeral Home, Davis.
