Who Was Jamie Sue Petitti?

Jamie Sue was born on October 29, 1926 to her adoring parents, Bryan Douglas and Hettie Lee Lattimore in Sulphur, Oklahoma. She would be their only child. Mom was always quite pampered growing up. Grandmother told me how she “defaced” anAmerican flag to make my mom’s dance outfit when Mom was 4. I found the costume when going through her things, faded and worn but full of love. Grandmother would even wear mom’s undershirts over her clothing to stretch them out because mom said they were “squeezy.” When Mom was a senior, at the age of 16, there would be a polio outbreak. This was when mom developed her intense “germaphobia.” She was allowed to stay home for months, but she still achieved the Valedictorian award upon her graduation. She was always surrounded by loving family and family friends. One of her favorite persons would be “Cookie Daddy,” her grandfather. He had a small grocery story on 12th street and brought her cookies every night this given his name.
