Child Neglect Charge Filed In Death Of Boy
A Sulphur man was arrested in eastern Oklahoma recently and charged with child neglect that resulted in the death of a five-year-old boy, Murray County authorities said this week.
According to a report from the Murray County Sheriff’s Office, Shane Braden, 48, Sulphur, is alleged to have delayed seeking medical help for his five-year-old son after the boy possibly ingested a family member’s medication.
An investigation by Murray County Sheriff Darrin Rogers, deputy Kara Peska and Natalie Moss of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services revealed that the boy was eventually taken to Arbuckle Memorial Hospital back in September, 2018, then transferred to OU Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City, but died shortly after arrival. During the investigation, lawmen learned the child was not immediately taken to the emergency room and was having seizures for possibly six hours before he was taken to the hospital.
