“Dawning Of A New Era” Theme For Banquet

“The Dawning of A New Era” was the theme for the annual Sulphur-Davis Joint Chamber of Commerce Banquet held Monday evening, Feb. 3 at the Murray County Expo Center. Chamber presidents Lynn Hickman, Sulphur and Caleb Lochridge, Davis, presided over the ceremonies.

Boy Scout Troop 160 opened the event with presentation of the colors and led in the Pledge of Allegiance followed by prayer given by Steve Harshaw of the Pathway Church of Davis.

Prior to awards presentations, each president gave an overview of the past year events and recognized volunteers and board members for their service. New board members of each club were announced as well as out-going members. Chamber staff members from both clubs were also introduced and recognized.

Kicking off the awards presentations was Lacee Sartors. She presented the Leadership Murray County Award to Bill Wright, Superintendent of the CNRA, followed by Kemper Howe presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award to Calvin Agee, former Superintendent of Sulphur Schools.
