Sheriff Warning Of Ongoing Burglary Ring In Rural Areas

Murray County Sheriff Darin Rogers this week is warning residents of an ongoing burglary ring that is focusing on farm equipment in rural areas.

According to Rogers, a 6420 John Deere tractor was stolen from a residence north of Sulphur and, at a nearby residence, a trailer was in the process of being stolen, but the attempted burglary was foiled when the homeowner walked out of a home, apparently scaring off the intruders.

Rogers said a group of people who focused on trailers, tractors, ATV’s and other easily accessible items, are now out of prison and believed to be back in this area.

In addition, Rogers said houses have been burglarized south of Sulphur and that numerous concerned citizens have contacted law enforcement and are providing information about the burglaries. Said Rogers, “law enforcement is zeroing in on numerous subjects involved and the arrest of the subjects is imminent.”
