In Split Vote, Council Rejects Funding For Industrial Authority
In a 3-2 vote, Sulphur City Council members on Monday again rejected a $5,000.00 funding request for the Murray County Industrial Authority.
The authority’s first funding request was made during the 2017- 2018 budget process in June. At that time, the council voted to exclude the expenditure from the MCIA budget in the wake of approving a $72,000.00 payment (over a three-year period) at the May 8 meeting for the purpose of hiring an economic development consultant.
