Powerful winds last Sunday wrecked havoc on a number of locations in southern and southwestern Murray County including this home on Chickasaw Trail and Primrose Lane where a tree fell across the corner of the structure.

At left, in inset, this huge tree was uprooted by the strong blast wind, also on Chickasaw Trail.

A number of other county areas also sustained damage during the storm, according to Mark Woodell, Murray County Emergency Management director.

The storm came through Murray County just after 10:00 a.m. with a strong line of heavy to severe storms that produced heavy rain and winds in excess of 50 miles per hour.

Storm Uproots Trees, Damages Buildings

A powerful thunderstorm spawned by a fast-moving cold front on Sunday damaged several buildings and uprooted large trees in areas southwest of Sulphur.
