Trick-or-Treat Night Set This Thursday
The City of Sulphur will hold its Halloween Trick-or-Treat night on Thursday, Oct. 31. The Sulphur council recently set that date (the official Halloween night) as the date for Sulphur kids to enjoy the festivities.
City officials recommended that parents take their kids trick-or-treating between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. and that all primary safety precautions be observed, including safety while walking to and from homes. It is also recommended that parents not accept any candy that is not securely wrapped or fastened.
Other common sense approaches that will ensure kids’ safety include going only to houses with porch lights on and to trick-or-treat in neighborhoods with which they are familiar. Motorists are encouraged to exercise extreme caution, especially in residential streets where kids will be trick-ortreating.
Trick-or-Treat Safety Tips
•Walk on the left side of the road, facing traffic if there are no sidewalks.
•Carry a flashlight or glow stick so you can be seen when it gets dark.
