Nelson Ernest Mueller

Memorial services for Nelson Ernest Mueller, 70, Sulphur, were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Oct.31 at the First Christian Church with Rev. Tim Kowalski officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home of Sulphur. Born October 22, 1946 in Clinton to Fred & Leoda (Klump) Mueller, he passed away Thursday, Oct. 27 in Tulsa at the age of 70 years and five days. He married Mary (Skillings) Mueller in Adams, Okla. on March 19, 1982. He grew up in Clinton where he graduated from High School in 1964. Nelson graduated from OSU with a Degree in Animal Science. He had lived in several communities while working for the National Resource Conservation Service, moving to Sulphur in 1985 from Freedom. He owned a lawn care business. Nelson enjoyed horse racing, coffee fellowship and spending time with his family. He was a Viet Nam Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. Nelson was a member of the First Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Tommy Mueller. Surviving are his wife, Mary Mueller, of the home in Sulphur; a daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Steve Tilley, Ada; a son, Brad Mueller, Sulphur and granddaughter, Sadie Tilley, Ada. Serving as honorary bearers were David Earsom, Larry Jones, Kirk Standridge, Al McKay, Jr., Fred Chitwood and Jim Altom. A military service was conducted by a Fort Sill Honors’ Team.
