The Sulphur boys, above, and girls, below, won their respective district titles last Saturday in Sulphur and will now head to the regional tournament in Henryetta on Thursday. The boys, coached by Chase Todd and Grant Bates, won in a nail-biter, 73-69, and the girls, led by Toby Todd and Tracey Eldred, scored 90 points and rolled to an easy win.

BOYS, GIRLS WIN DISTRICT TITLES Boys Down Henryetta; Prep For Spiro In Regionals

Things were not looking good for the Sulphur boys on Saturday night.

They had been in control for most of the first half, leading by as many as 10, in the first round of playoffs, a district match-up at home vs. Henryetta.

But the Knights turned up the pressure in the second half and led the Dogs by as many as five in the fourth quarter.

However, this Sulphur team had been through plenty tougher.

The Dogs had lost seven in a row to finish the regular season, having to face a gauntlet of opponents.

And for that, they had the resolve to answer back and get a huge win over Henryetta, winning 74-69 and capturing the district title.
