Dogs Pick Up Key District Win Over Ada

Good Pitching, Defense Propel Sulphur In Win

Sulphur picked up a key district win over Ada on Monday as Taigen White began on the mound, throwing four strong innings and giving up just one run with Nash Matlack coming in down the stretch.

The Bulldogs emerged the winner by playing defense and small ball for the road win. In the end, the Dogs showed strength in the 4-2 victory over the Cougars.

New Sulphur coach Mike Matlack said of his pitchers, “They (White and Matlack) both threw the ball well today in a big district win over a very good Ada ball club; our defensive played very exceptional behind them with one error.”

Leading Sulphur in hitting were Price Daube and Carson Pettifer, each with two hits followed by Nash Matlack and Reese Ratchford with one each.
