Bill Championing States’ Rights Passes House

OKLAHOMA CITY – House Bill 1236 sponsored by House Speaker Charles McCall, R-Atoka, and Rep. Mark McBride, R-Moore, and House Resolution 1005 sponsored by Rep. Jay Steagall, R-Yukon, overwhelmingly passed the House last week. The two pieces of legislation are focused on strengthening Oklahoma’s state sovereignty through an assertion of rights outlined in the Tenth Amendment of the United States Constitution.

A Crowning Night

Postponed several times for COVID and weather related issues, Sulphur High School’s basketball and wrestling homecoming ceremonies were held in the gym on Tuesday, Feb. 23 in an evening of joy and celebration. The dual crowning ceremonies were held without games or matches due to COVID concerns. Money raised from entry fees will go to the junior class for prom expenses, according to school officials.
