Officials Urge Holiday Caution

Local residents are reminded to exercise caution this July 4th holiday weekend, especially with fireworks, and while at the lake or other venues. Temperatures are expected to be hot and dry all week, posing a big fire danger risk, officials said. Due to the COVID-19 virus, there are no plans for any fireworks’ displays within the city limits of Sulphur this weekend. In the past few years, the Chickasaw Nation lit up the night sky around the Artesian Hotel with a big display, above, but that event is not being held this year.
