Bill Martin was born and reared in Sulphur, Oklahoma. He graduated from Sulphur High School in 1947 and attended East Central State College in Ada, Oklahoma. His college education was interrupted when the 45th Infantry Division was mobilized and sent to Korea in 1951. After discharge, he served in the National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve, retiring in 1980 at the rank of Colonel.
Helen Roady was born November 11, 1927 to Tim and Bertha Usrey in Hess in Jackson County. She died on February 21, 2020. Helen was married to Harold Roady on January 21, 1976.
Services for Mary Ellen McDonald will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Sulphur with Brother Darryl Patrick officiating. Burial will be at the Shoot Cemetery, near St. Charles, Arkansas.
Services for Alta Christine “Toots” Barber, of Roff, will be held Saturday, Feb. 29, at the Sulphur United Methodist Church with Rev Jim Shepherd officiating.
Funeral services for Shirley Ann LaMarsna were held 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Sulphur with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr officiating. Interment will follow at the Maxwell Cemetery in Oil Center.
