Local kids cool off last Tuesday at the Sulphur splash pad as the temperature soared to a record-tying 110 degrees as the area continues to swelter in excessive heat in the past several weeks.

Some relief may be on the horizon from the oppressive heat and drought Sulphur and the state has experienced during late June and July, according to the National Weather Service.

Summer Art Classes Continue At Local Gallery

Summer Art Classes Continue At Local Gallery

Sulphur is the site of a unique opportunity for young people to learn various artistic skills this summer. The Summer Youth Art Program began in June and is sponsored by the Artists of the Arbuckles. Classes are held at the group’s art gallery in downtown Sulphur at 330 W. Muskogee.
