Charlsie Ann Mobly Martin

Charlsie Ann Mobly Martin passed away Friday, April 16, 2021 in Yukon, OK. She was born in Mobeetie, Texas, November 26, 1934 to Charles and Mamie Mobly and was the youngest of 9 children. At the age of 5 years, she moved with her family to Sulphur, where she was raised on a dairy farm, north of Sulphur. She graduated from Sulphur High School in 1952 and attended East Central State University. In 1954 she married Billy E. Martin in a blessed union of 65 years; they made their first home in Sulphur and had three children. In 1964 they moved to Madill, and then to Edmond, in 1967 where they were actively involved in the church, schools and community for 35 years. During that time Charlsie worked at the Max Chambers Library, University of Central Oklahoma, and was active in the Business and Professional Women’s Association and Presbyterian Women’s Association. Above all, she was a loving and engaged wife and mother.
