James David Schwake passed from the earth on February 3, 2021 in Goodyear, Arizona. David was born on May 6, 1949 in Sulphur to James Melvin Schwake and Dorris (Whitwill) Schwake.
Lena Mae Rhodes Austin passed away peacefully from this life February 19, 2021, in Fort Worth, Texas, at Stonegate Nursing Center. She was born on March 5, 1921, in a log cabin on family property in Murray County near Big Canyon, Oklahoma, to Gladys Griffin Rhodes and John A. Rhodes.
Funeral services for Karen Yvonne (Leming) Grissom were held 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 12, 2021 at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Sulphur, with Pastor Dick Terry officiating. Interment followed at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.
W. B. “Dubs” Driver was born December 18, 1931 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to William Bewey Driver and Ona Bell Blackwell Driver. He graduated Wynnewood Highschool in 1948 and worked in the oil fields. He attended Oklahoma University before enlisting in the United States Navy. He served in the United State Navy from September 1951 to August 1955. During his service, Dubs was awarded the National Defense Medal, United Nations Medal, Korean Service Medal (2 stars), China Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He graduated East Central State University in 1958 with degrees in Mathematics and Physics. During his career, Dubs worked at National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Department of the Army, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and after retirement, worked as a consultant for E-Systems. He developed many patents for flexible drill piping and was always designing and creating new inventions in his workshop. His family and friends enjoyed listening to Dubs share his knowledge and experience. He will be profoundly missed.
