Rep. Cole Becomes Longest Serving Native American In The House

Moore, OK – Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04), a member of the Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma, became the longest serving Native American in the U.S. House of Representatives. The previous record was also held by an Oklahoman and member of the Chickasaw Nation, former Congressman Charles David Carter, who served in the House for a total of 7,048 days.

Fight Leads To Shooting At Popular Sulphur Business

Local officials investigated a shooting incident last Sunday at the Dog Trade, a weekly flea market type exchange on the north side of Sulphur, just off U.S. 177. One man was shot in the hip and airlifted to an Oklahoma City hospital where he was admitted in stable condition, officials said.

An physical altercation between two men at a popular Sulphur business ended in a shooting last Sunday, Sulphur Police and Murray County Sheriff’s officials said.
